2009 Native American Artist of the Year - Jan Michael Looking Wolf to release international “Live As One” single with 50% of the proceeds to benefit Boys and Girls clubs of America

In support of independent Native American radio programming, Looking Wolf’s “Live As One” single will make its world debut on the Native Trailblazers BlogTalkRadio show  on Friday, July 9th 7 PM Eastern Standard Time (4 PM Pacific time)

Working in conjunction with Orca Moon Music in Seattle and Spirit Wind Records in New York, Native American Artist of the Year and Kalapuya native Jan Michael Looking Wolf is set to release the epic single “Live As One” Friday, July 9th on the Native Trailblazers BlogTalkRadio show.  In addition to the world premiere of the song, “Live As One” will also be sold on iTunes with 50% of the proceeds to directly benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.  The song will also be available for purchase immediately following the show at most popular digital download sites.  They will be announced live and posted at www.lookingwolf.com

Looking Wolf’s powerful acoustic rock ballad, with its rich vocals, Native American flute solos and a message of hope, peace and an embrace of our world’s rich diversity, is a song created for the benefit of our world’s children. According to Looking Wolf, “This is a song for them. We can make a difference in this world, all of us, together.”

As a musician, Looking Wolf has had a dozen solo recordings and was named “Flutist of the Year” at the prestigious Native American Music Awards (NAMMYS) in 2008 and won “Artist of the Year at the 11th Annual NAMMYS in 2009

Refusing to rest on his laurels, and since receiving the honors, Looking Wolf returned to several musical projects of philanthropy.  Earlier this year, he released a native rock CD entitled “Breakin’ Free” with a positive message of drug and alcohol prevention for native youth.  Copies were distributed across the country to every Indian Reservation and two music videos from the recording were internationally distributed through Spirit Wind Records.  Additional efforts include making a children’s CD for kids afflicted with cancer and co-producing the “Rise-Up Project” to benefit homeless shelters across the country.

Produced by former Sony producer, Keith Sommers, “Live As One” is being hailed as Jan Michael’s best work to date.  “This is a song that the whole world will enjoy, it’s simply beautiful”, says Betti Johnson (President, Orca Moon). Donald Blackfox, CEO of Spirit Wind Records, exclaims with a smile, “Well, ‘JM’ did it again.  This song is incredible.  He has committed so much of his life to promoting healing through music and native culture.  What an inspiration, what a beautiful song.”
